ATLANTA, GA, December 22, 2008---In support of the credit union movement “not for profit, not for charity, but for service,” CDC Federal Credit Union (CDC FCU) is pleased to announce a new benefits program to the community: Member Rewards.

The program serves as an outlet for members to receive more beneficial products and services from CDC FCU. In 2008, members took advantage of a low auto loan rate of 4.4%, a 6-month certificate of deposit rate at 7.50%, and grant funding for mortgage loans. In all, the program offers borrowers the opportunity to obtain lower rates on loans, while also offering savers a higher rate of dividend on deposits.

“At a time when market volatility is common amongst financial institutions, we are pleased to offer our members a safe haven for their financial needs,” said Betsy Mercier, president and CEO. “We are well prepared to work with our members through troubled economic times, and we look forward to being a viable option for non-credit union members.”

Overall, more than $20 million has been loaned to members for consumer loans, $21 million in mortgage loans and $22 million in deposits were received. More than 2,000 members’ lives have been financially affected by the program in entirety.
