During the first quarter of 2008 CORE Credit Union did a refer-a-friend promotion where members made either $10 or $25 when they referred a friend, relative or coworker to the Credit Union. During the three month promotion, 71 new members joined CORE. Of more importance, 17 opened up checking accounts and 11 opened CD. A total of $757,000 in new deposits came to the Credit Union. With regard to loans, 5 new loans were opened that totaled to more than $22,000.
