(Woodstock, GA) Credit Union of Georgia’s “Hunting for a Cure” Relay for Life team raised more than $7,000 to aid in the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Credit Union of Georgia participated in both the Cobb County and Cherokee County Relay for Life events.  The Cobb County Relay for Life event was held May 8, 2009 at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta and the Cherokee County Relay for Life event was held May 22, 2009 at Sequoyah High School in Canton.

Relay for Life is an annual overnight fundraising event celebrating survivorship and benefiting cancer research. Teams run and walk the track to honor friends and loved ones who have battled cancer.

Today, more than three million people participate in Relay for Life events around the nation. The money raised by Relay for Life funds cancer research, early detection and prevention education, advocacy efforts, and patient services.

Credit Union of Georgia is honored to participate in Relay for Life and other programs that benefit worthy causes and aid in invaluable research.
