Milledgeville, GA (March 16, 2010) – Classes from the Early Learning Center recently visited MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union. Thirty five students were given a tour of the lobby, vault and safe deposit boxes. Assistant Store Manager, Cynthia Miller, stressed to the students how important it is to start saving at an early age. The students were shown how to have their coins counted through a machine, and then exchange their receipt for cash or deposit the money into their savings account at the teller line. At the end of their visit, the students listened to the story of Johnny Appleseed which coincides with the Savings Account MidSouth offers to youth age 12 and under. To commemorate their visit, each student received a pencil and a “Let’s Go to the Credit Union” coloring book.
MidSouth Community FCU was originally charted as Bibb Teachers Federal Credit Union, and has since grown to have more than $135 million in assets and a membership that includes more than 35,000 members. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school within their 13-county community charter. MidSouth Community FCU is a local non-profit financial cooperative, owned and operated by its members.
